CONTENT & TAKEDOWNS

Content policy.

Everything here is reviewed by a human before it goes public. If something got through that should not have, tell us and we will deal with it. Last updated August 2, 2026.

Report something

Email [email protected] with the link to the item (every meme has its own page at /asset/<id>) and a one-line reason. That address covers copyright takedowns, illegal content, harassment and impersonation.

Illegal content and child sexual abuse material are removed immediately on report and referred to the appropriate authorities. We do not wait for a formal notice for those.

Copyright takedown

If you own rights to something published here, send a notice to [email protected] including:

  • Identification of the work you say is infringed.
  • The exact URL(s) of the material you want removed.
  • Your contact details.
  • A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the rights holder or the law.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

We remove material we reasonably believe to be infringing, and we terminate the accounts and API keys of repeat infringers. If you believe your submission was removed in error, reply to the notice and we will consider a counter-notice.

Knowingly filing a false takedown notice has legal consequences for the filer.

What gets removed

  • Anything unlawful, or infringing copyright or trademark.
  • Sexual content involving minors — always, immediately, and reported.
  • Harassment, threats, doxxing, and non-consensual intimate imagery.
  • Synthetic or manipulated media presented as real in order to defame or deceive.
  • Impersonation of a real person or project, including fake contract addresses.
  • Malware, or files disguised as media.
  • Spam and bulk-submitted filler.

How removal actually works

A moderator can reject an item, which keeps a record of the decision, or delete it permanently. A permanent delete removes both the database record and the stored file — it is irreversible, and it is what we use for illegal content and valid takedowns.

Because approved media is public and served through an open API, other sites may already hold copies. We can remove it from the vault and stop serving it; we cannot retract copies made while it was live. Removal from the vault also removes it from every site embedding our feed, going forward.

Moderator accountability

Every approval, rejection, deletion and staff change is written to an append-only audit log recording who acted, when, and a hashed IP. Moderators cannot quietly delete something and leave no trace — that is deliberate.

Reporting an integration

If a third-party site is misusing our API — submitting content their users did not agree to publish, stripping attribution, or spamming the queue — report it to [email protected]. API keys are attributable and can be revoked instantly.
